Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As an Advanced Software Test Engineer for Airborne Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit, to crypto products for identifying friendly aircraft, and weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons, we work to ensure the world's most advanced aircraft maintain air superiority and information dominance.

- Strong experience with C/C++ and Python, particularly in developing or automating tests for complex systems.
- Strong experience with Linux, including scripting and debugging in test environments.
- Proven ability to perform requirements analysis to derive and verify testable requirements, ensuring comprehensive system test coverage.
- Experience writing clear and detailed test descriptions, procedures, and plans for requirements-based system testing.
- Familiarity with system-level testing methodologies, with a focus on validating end-to-end functionality against requirements.

- Experience with test leadership, including planning, executing, and documenting system-level and validation testing activities.
- A requirements-based testing mindset, with a proven ability to analyze requirements and design comprehensive test cases and procedures to validate them.

- Demonstrated ability to write and execute test descriptions, test procedures, and test reports, ensuring alignment with project objectives and system-level requirements.
- Solid background in system-level validation and testing, particularly in embedded software, Linux, RTOS, and HW/SW integration environments.
- Familiarity with DO-178 compliant software engineering life-cycle experience, particularly in system-level verification and validation activities.
- Leadership experience in test management, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for system-level and validation testing efforts.
- Willingness to work with hardware specifications and leverage hardware interfaces in the composition of comprehensive system-level test strategies.
- Expertise in applying technology and technical skills to design and execute creative system-level test solutions that improve software quality and reliability.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the system testing life cycle, from requirements analysis and test case design to execution and defect resolution.
- Strong ability to collaborate with developers, ensuring requirements are clear and testable while complementing unit and integration testing efforts.
- Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to secure buy-in on system-level testing approaches and ideas.
- Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership in system testing and position others for success.

Workplace Options:
This position will be fully on-site. While on-site, you will be a part of the GDMS Bloomington (MN) facility.
Target salary range: USD $112,924.00/Yr. - USD $125,275.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
