Location: Dade City, FL
Pay Rate: $28-$32 per hour

Waste Connections, Inc. has immediate openings for a high-energy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our hauling location in Dade City, FL. Previous waste industry experience is a huge plus!

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Half-day every other Saturday

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance services
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
• Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and assign repairs
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software
• Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment
• Respond to emergency breakdowns with service calls
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

• Requires heavy lifting (50+ lbs), pushing, and pulling
• Work may be indoors in a shop or outdoors for roadside repairs
• Must follow basic safety precautions when working in tight positions or handling greasy tools

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Must provide own tools; welding/fabrication experience is a plus
• Computer experience is a plus
