Overview

The Supervisor of the Material Availability Team in Groton Shipyard is responsible for providing managerial oversight of the MAT Organization supporting all material activities associated with Submarine Construction for the Columbia Class, Hartford Availability, Maintenance and Modernization Offsite work, and Cos in the SPARs environment. The MAT Supervisor will be responsible for leading teams of Program Representatives focused on Submarine Construction Support this includes, but not limited to installation schedules, cost and progress, work order attainment, inspection processes, design deliverables, material availability, and interface with our customers. This position will require immense communication with various Operation Managers, Design / Engineering Managers, Executives, Government representatives, Quality assurance, Planning, and the Program Office across various programs to resolve material issues affecting Ship's Construction. The Supply Chain organization is looking for an individual that can lead with high energy, positive attitude, in a quick paced environment with high visibility. The position responsibilities will include:

Supervisor duties include but are not limited to:

    Ensure process and procedures are well understood and followed.
  • Supervision of Material Availability Team members for COLUMBIA Class, Hartford Availability, Maintenance and Modernization Offsite work, and VCOs in the SPARS environment.
  • Supervisory duties will also include the training and development of personnel, assignment of work and prioritization, review and approval of work products, review and development of metrics, labor budget development, timely completion of work assignments, and salaried performance reviews. This individual should possess the skills necessary to lead and build a collaborative team to support construction and submarine fleet material needs.

Position requires proven skills in: project management, organization, multitasking, problem solving, negotiating and communication, as well as supply base capability knowledge, technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and excellent computer skills.

The ability to interface effectively with various customers such: PMS397, EB Program offices, Ships Management, Operations, Finance, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Planning Yard, various Quality Departments, EB Off-Site Departments, as well as Senior Electric Boat Management Staff is essential.



Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years experience in Supply Chain, Program Office, or Material Finance
  • Experience in understanding materials management related procedures and processes
  • Familiarity in supply chain management applications such as ORACLE, MRPII, and PowerBI
  • Demonstrated experience in using all Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and graph/charts

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Military experience or Shipyard/Shipbuilding experience
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Experience working with Senior Management at Electric Boat
  • SPARs and Teamcenter experience
  • Lean Six Sigma training
