Starting rate of pay is$25.56/HR with an increase to $26.31/HR at 6-months of employment and increase to $27.06/HR at 1-year of employment. Schedule is Monday - Friday Shift is 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM, with some overtime as needed. Safety Sensitive:Yes Qualified candidates must havea Valid Class-B CDL and medical card&Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report & Eligible Criminal Background Report. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to perform a physically demanding job, cardiovascular workout, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers,500+ customers carts per day throughout the City of Pendleton and surrounding area.
- Ability to comprehend electronic route tablet and service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Ability to safety operate a Peterbilt residential automated arm collection truck.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load recycle containers at designated facilities.
- Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Extensive physical activity.Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting required objects over 50 pounds. Requires the ability to push or pull objects over 100 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL with air brakes endorsementREQUIRED.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- MINIMUM2-YEARof route driving experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
