Waymo
$175,000-$221,000 USD
United States, California, Los Angeles
Jan 07, 2026

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver-The World's Most Experienced Driver-to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

On the Waymo Marketing team, you will help to connect people with the magic and impact of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Our team has the unique opportunity to not only grow Waymo's brand from the ground up, but to also build societal acceptance for autonomous driving technology for the first time in history. We build thoughtful marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and creative assets to deliver messages that matter to our audience, communicated through anything from video content, to social media interactions, to immersive physical experiences. We also shape Waymo's go-to-market initiatives, helping to transform Waymo into a thriving business with a growing user base.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Brand & Culture Marketing Lead.

You will:

  • Define and execute a comprehensive entertainment marketing strategy to embed Waymo into the fabric of pop culture across film, television, music, and other entertainment platforms.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage high-impact product placements, storyline integrations and co-marketing that position Waymo as an exciting part of everyday life.
  • Leverage your deep industry connections to secure opportunities with major studios, production companies, and talent agencies before they hit the open market.
  • Lead 3P entertainment partnerships and collaborations, overseeing the process from initial creative concept and contract negotiation to on-set logistics and final execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Communications, Production, Operations, and Product teams to ensure brand safety, product accuracy, operational execution and compliance within all entertainment integrations.
  • Quantify the impact and ROI of integrations on brand awareness, sentiment, demand and earned media value and analyze cultural trends to proactively identify "breakout" media opportunities.

You have:

  • 7+ years of experience in entertainment marketing, branded content, or business development within a top-tier agency, studio, or high-growth consumer brand.
  • An extensive, active "rolodex" of contacts across the entertainment ecosystem, including direct relationships with showrunners, producers, set decorators, and talent management.
  • A proven track record of executing successful brand integrations that moved beyond background placement to become part of the cultural conversation.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the experience to handle complex contracts, licensing agreements, and partnership deal structures independently.
  • A deep understanding of the physical production lifecycle, allowing you to navigate set logistics, timelines, and union regulations effectively.
  • Excellent storytelling abilities, with the skill to articulate how a tech brand fits naturally into creative narratives without feeling forced.

We prefer:

  • Experience working specifically with technology or mobility brands, translating complex product features into consumer-friendly entertainment narratives.
  • A background involving music video integration or artist partnerships, as well as experience with red-carpet or premiere event activations.
  • Familiarity with SAG-AFTRA guidelines and other entertainment industry compliance standards.
  • Experience managing external entertainment marketing agencies and substantial project budgets.
  • A strong pulse on emerging media trends, including the creator economy and digital-first content platforms.
  • A genuine passion for autonomous technology and a forward-thinking vision for how it improves urban mobility.

Travel Requirements:

  • 1 - 3 times per quarter
