Summary:

This position will be responsible for the purchasing of products and component parts for use in manufacturing and sales to our end customers. These items will be purchased from overseas and domestic suppliers. This position will report directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Purchase parts for manufacturing based on demand requirements.
  • Purchase MRO items as required.
  • Ensure parts are purchased from the appropriate vendor, on time, and at the best price.
  • Follow supply chain strategies to improve purchasing and logistic performance.
  • Ensure suppliers are performing at an acceptable level
  • Build relationship with suppliers that secure the best price, service, quality and delivery options on all potential purchases
  • Quote new items within the commodity group and participate in cost save initiatives
  • Oversee the process of acquiring goods and services by asking for tenders, consult with suppliers and review price quotations
  • Set contract terms and conditions and awarding contracts to specific vendors
  • Advise production / operations management, sales and shipping/receiving manager of delivery dates and any changes. Communicating potential shortages early so alternative plans can be made.
  • Reconcile issues between purchase orders, receivers, and vendor invoices where applicable
  • Manage supplier requested changes, internal design changes and changes for cost savings
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Work Experience: 2 years of experience in Purchasing field
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems
  • Organization Skills: Ability to logically prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in changing situations with multiple departments
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and grasp; repetitive movements with wrists, hands and fingers; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form
  • Physical Environment: Normal office environment; potential of exposure to moving equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business.
  • Work Experience: 5 years of experience in related field

Pay Range: $52,000 - $58,000 per year

Freedman by Lippert determines pay based on several factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, education, skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
