STS Line Maintenance is hiring an experienced A&P Line Station Manager to lead daily line maintenance operations at our station in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a working station manager role for a proven aviation maintenance leader who can balance hands on technical work with people leadership, safety, scheduling, and operational accountability.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced airline environment, leads by example, and understands how to run a compliant, efficient, and customer focused line station.


Job Summary

The A&P Line Station Manager is responsible for overseeing all line maintenance activities at the Grand Rapids station while actively participating in maintenance operations. This role ensures aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations, air carrier requirements, and company policies while managing technicians, schedules, documentation, and safety programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily line maintenance operations at the Grand Rapids station
  • Perform all line maintenance functions without supervision
  • Lead, train, and assist technicians with all aspects of their positions
  • Exercise sound judgment in aircraft maintenance, safety, and team environments
  • Input and approve aircraft work orders in the computer system in accordance with all applicable policies
  • Create work schedules to meet air carrier requirements without building overtime into schedules
  • Complete quality, safety, and maintenance related documentation for STS and air carriers
  • Read, understand, and comply with company manuals, manufacturer manuals, GMMs, and AMMs
  • Qualify on aircraft operated at the station through GENFAM completions and air carrier training
  • Communicate effectively with customers, air carriers, and internal leadership
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment
  • Work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of line maintenance experience
  • Minimum of three years of management experience
  • Valid A&P License required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Self motivated with strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong problem solving and organizational abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and preferably KRONOS timekeeping system
  • Ability to read and understand company and manufacturer manuals including GMMs and AMMs
  • Ability to qualify on station aircraft through GENFAM and air carrier training
  • Ability to own and provide a minimum required set of hand tools
  • Ability to input and approve aircraft work orders in compliance with company policies
  • Ability to train and mentor technicians as required
  • Valid Driver License with a clean MVR
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain all required airport badging
  • Must not be under a doctor's care with work restrictions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and work stands unassisted
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in environments with changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels

Compensation

  • Annual salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 based on experience
  • Performance bonuses available
