Pay Range: $18-$22 per hour (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills.)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The Inspector is responsible for the handling, measurement, visual inspection, correction, and cleaning of manufactured parts. Inspection activities may include incoming materials, in-process inspections, final inspections prior to shipment, and audit support. The Inspector records inspection data and ensures all products meet applicable design specifications and quality requirements as defined in the work order.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience inspecting product in a manufacturing or laboratory environment



  • Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions in English



  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication to determine tolerances



  • Visual acuity and depth perception suitable for inspection microscopes



  • 20/20 corrected vision (varies by division)



  • Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel as required



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods



  • Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grasp, twist, and stoop as needed



  • Manual dexterity to handle small parts and hand tools



  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs., depending on specific job function



  • Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions and changing priorities



  • Must be eligible to work in an ITAR-regulated environment





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform visual inspections of parts to verify conformance to customer specifications and work orders



  • Conduct final inspections and identify, isolate, and document non-conforming product



  • Utilize a variety of inspection tools, including microscopes, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and assist with fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) water wash processes



  • Use dimensional measuring tools and handheld digital measuring devices on a daily basis



  • May be trained on CMM, optical comparators, and other advanced inspection equipment; ensures proper, safe, and careful use of all equipment



  • Accurately enter inspection data into Excel spreadsheets with attention to detail and numerical accuracy



  • Inspect irregularly sized or complex parts, applying judgment and experience to determine product acceptability



  • Read and interpret specifications and mechanical drawings; ask questions when requirements are unclear



  • Comply with Kyocera International, Inc. policies, ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 standards, ITAR regulations, and applicable SPC requirements



  • Participate in 5S and safety programs; maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and assist with 5S training for new inspectors as needed



  • Cross-train in other quality or packaging functions and provide coverage when required



  • Perform detailed, focused work for extended periods and complete inspection reports or basic data analysis as assigned



  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned
