WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION
- Conduct agency and performance tests on nVent parts and products as requested in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work with the requester to modify and expand test plans and procedures.
- Generate written reports of test results in an accurate, concise manner, drawing sound conclusions and observations.
- Set up and operate lab equipment and contribute to the organization and layout of the lab for increased efficienc.y
- Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and make accurate prototype parts, assemblies, and products upon request.
- Design and build equipment and fixtures to conduct testing.
- Assist in maintaining the calibration of the lab equipment.
- Support and participate in new product development Lean activities (IE DFMEA-Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design Reviews, 3P Conceptual Design event).
- Assist engineers with design and development of test machinery and equipment as required.
- Provide testing and engineering support for Engineered Solution and Value Engineering projects.
- Conduct independent technical research.
- Other duties as assigned.
You have:
- 2-year advanced formal technical school training in electrical, electronic or air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, or related field.
- 2+ years in an engineering test lab required; Experience working in an industrial manufacturing company preferred.
- Electrical, Electronics, HVAC training or experience preferred.
- Ability to write technical lab reports.
- Ability to read/operate standard engineering instruments including, but not limited to: Tape Measure, Caliper, Micrometer, Force/Pressure Gauge, Voltage Meter, etc.
- Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and test station operation.
- Alignment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours.
- EPA 608 certification required or willing to obtain one within 3 months of start date with support from nVent.

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour
