Job Description

Job Summary:


Performs full development lifecycle - specification gathering / analysis, design, development, testing / integration and documentation / maintenance. The position requires working with subject matter experts to develop specifications, test and provides some analytical review of data. Responsibilities may include user education, business analysis and application support.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Specification Development - responsible for working with the business to develop the specifications of the project or task; including details of business rules and formulas, overall design of project, tasks and logic flow; input / output designs and edits.
  • Programming - responsible for writing code to support business rules and logic in accordance with the project design specifications.
  • Testing - responsible for designing, performing and documenting appropriate tests for the programming performed on the project to ensure error free code is presented for end user testing and deployed into production.


  • Deploy application and systems to production, train personnel in user departments in any specific procedures necessary to enter data into terminals for computer processing, and provide ongoing applications support as needed


  • Documentation Development - responsible for documenting business rules or formulas used within the programs; developing and maintaining various system or program flows and process maps; developing and maintaining operation procedures, recovery procedures and user documentation.
  • Analysis and Problem Resolution - responsible for supporting the business and IT areas with business analysis, problem investigation and resolution.


  • Interview and analyze business needs to provide recommendations for automation and efficiency improvements
  • Communicate and interact with staff to increase efficiency and functionality of software applications
  • Advance and maintain technology expertise
  • Assist Information Systems Management with special projects as directed



Job Skills & Abilities:



  • Design and implement multi-tier software applications / systems
  • Experience with building end-to-end applications
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize business needs, analyze requests, recommend solid technical solutions, and lead in delivering the solution
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with a diverse group of clients, team members, managers, and subject matter experts (SME)
  • Ability to plan and organize a project
  • Ability to provide proactive project updates and report out to management
  • Rotating on-call support schedule during business and or non-business hours



Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; or a directly related field of study in the area the P/A will be supporting (see supplemental Software Development Skills sheet for list of programming languages, software, databases, systems, skills and studies)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field of work
  • Work experience with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Past position working with projects from conception to completion with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Using the Software Development Skills sheet:
  • Expert working knowledge with one or more of the Core ERP Languages listed
  • Working knowledge and experience with one or more additional programming languages from either the Core ERP Systems or Client / Server - Web Systems
  • Additional working knowledge or experience with other programming languages listed is a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience with one or more of the Core ERP System Databases
  • Working Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems and at least two of the modules listed under the Application Systems section



Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Able to travel as needed (occasional).
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at organizations' facilities.
