Pay Details

The pay for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and is set at $25.94 per hour.

Job Description

The Group Sales and Subscriptions Associate is responsible for performing all work associated with the reservation, sale, seating, payment collection, fulfillment, and customer service for Group Sales and Subscription tickets to Kennedy Center events, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the Kennedy Center and IATSE Local 868.

This position supports both Group Sales and Subscription operations by processing patron orders accurately, providing high-quality customer service by phone, email, and in person at the Group Sales and Subscription Office window, and maintaining accurate patron and order records. Associates ensure that ticketing transactions and fulfillment processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner while upholding Kennedy Center policies and standards of service.

Key Responsibilities



  • Process all subscription and group ticket orders using the Kennedy Center's ticketing system (Tessitura). This includes reserving seats, processing payments, maintaining patron accounts, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with all policies and CBA guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons by phone, email, and in person at the Group Sales and Subscriptions Office window regarding subscriptions and group orders. Handle patron inquiries, seating preferences, and payment follow-ups. Refer any post-fulfillment exchanges or adjustments to the Box Office.
  • Prepare and manage fulfillment materials (excluding ticket printing), ensuring patrons receive confirmation documents, invoices, subscriber guides, and related materials. Coordinate the mailing of group tickets once printed by the Box Office.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patron and order records, ensuring data integrity across all systems. Proofread subscription and group materials for accuracy and clarity.
  • Assist with telemarketing order fulfillment, special projects, and other duties as assigned by management. Maintain compliance with the CBA and Kennedy Center policies.


Key Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous ticketing or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with Tessitura or comparable ticketing systems highly desirable.
  • Background or interest in the performing arts preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by performance schedules.
  • Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the DMV area. Relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Candidate must be willing to work onsite.


    Additional Information



    • Typical office environment, primarily seated, using a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
    • Frequent communication with patrons and colleagues by phone, email, and in person at the service window.
    • Occasional bending, standing, walking, or light lifting (up to 25 pounds).
    • May be asked to work nights and evenings as needed for Overtime.
    • All employees in this position are required to maintain active membership in IATSE Local 868 as a condition of employment.
