Job Information:

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and managing health and safety programs across all FloWorks operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a culture of safety, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to protect employees and maintain a safe work environment. Reports to the Vice President, Supply Chain and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Implementation & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations across company sites.

Training & Education

  • Deliver comprehensive safety training programs, including new hire orientation, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, and PPE usage.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and presentations to reinforce best practices and accident prevention.

Risk Assessment & Incident Management

  • Perform site evaluations to identify hazards, assess risk, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage reporting and documentation for workplace injuries and workers' compensation claims.
  • Understand the chemicals and any/all potential safety and environmental hazards used/present at all FloWorks Sites, take steps to reduce the use of problematic chemicals and to mitigate any potential safety and environmental health hazards.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and analyze safety performance data to identify trends and develop targeted improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve health and safety certifications and compliance programs (e.g., ISO-14001, OSHA VPP).
  • Develop the overall strategy of continuous improvement for FloWorks Health, Safety, and Environmental Initiatives to establish a culture of health and safety.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with operations, HR, and leadership teams to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Communicate health and safety updates and initiatives to employees and stakeholders effectively.
  • Assist with the integration of new companies.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in health and safety management within warehouse, logistics, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with material handling equipment, forklift operations, and distribution-specific hazards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment with flexibility for hybrid work. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers are used. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites will be required.
