Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Coordinator of Resident Support Services for Rutgers Residence Life. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Housing Assignments & Accommodations.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Handles the support and assignment of students with disabilities and medical concerns, coordination of the special accommodation request process, the incoming and continuing student special housing assignment process.
- Coordinates with University partners who are involved in accommodating students in residence.
- Participates as part of the Housing Assignments team and administers housing processes, room changes, and various occupancy management needs throughout the year.
- Advises campus staff of emerging trends on how to support the needs of students with disabilities within the community,
- Coordinates with the departmental assessment unit to ensure a high level of quality services to students of concern.
- Consults with the Residence Life Student Support unit when necessary, and works in concert with the Office of Disability Services for all approved service and assistance animal requests.
- Assists the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Housing Assignments & Accommodations in serving the needs of special populations (students with autism spectrum disorder, students in transition, non-traditional students)
- Serves as a consultant and advocate for their concerns.
- Responds to students and parents with concerns in a compassionate and timely manner.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience with responsibility for student advocacy and knowledge of ADA and/or FHA laws.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
