Position Overview:

Intern for robotic fabrication and assembly. Position requires the individual to support the operation by assisting technicians, engineers, and managers in the sustainment and continuous improvement of robotic automation equipment for Knapheide Manufacturing. Collaboration with operations, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and outside equipment suppliers. Must be self-starting and able to work in a team environment while taking instruction from members of the Automation Engineering Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Writes and publishes training documents, work instructions, and other documents as needed inside the Document Library.
  • Assist technicians with programming and continuous improvement activities
  • Support ongoing automation projects
  • Additional duties as assigned by the department manager


Position Requirements:

Current student enrolled in Robotics, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics or similar program related to industrial automation at the post-secondary level. Basic Office PC and communication skills. Flexibility in work schedule is a necessity. Advanced data analytical, PLC, and computer networking skill a plus. Must be able to take direction and adhere to all robotic safety requirements.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking and lifting associated with a manufacturing environment. Capable of working in an industrial manufacturing environment in proximity to sources of noise, weld flash, and metal dust. Must be capable of communicating verbally with individuals at all levels of the organization and have good critical reasoning, organization, and mechanical skills
