Position Overview

The Personnel Security Assistant / Help Desk Support role provides customer service and administrative support for personnel security case processing. Responsibilities include reviewing investigative forms for completeness and accuracy, assisting applicants with e-QIP requests, and coordinating follow-ups with requesting or investigating offices to resolve missing or incorrect information.

This position may require the employee to come into the office as little as one (1) day per week or as much as five (5) days per week, based on mission needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive telephone calls and respond to incoming email messages submitted through the Customer Service web address
  • Review e-QIP requests online and provide technical assistance to applicants
  • Prepare, submit, monitor, and update computer tracking systems concerning appropriate case material
  • Coordinate follow-up communication with requesting or investigating offices to resolve information gaps
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience performing administrative support in personnel security functions such as e-QIP/eAPP, SF-85, and SF-86, including reviewing investigative forms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position
