Get to Know Your Team:

• UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Provides support, training, and communication regarding the reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays to our facility in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards and facilities goals and policies. Coordinates and supervises day-to-day operations of SPD employees.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required.
  4 years of hands-on SPD experience with one year of leadership, including lead experience.
  Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
