DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for operating various vehicles and equipment essential for general construction, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks, which include snow removal and salting operations. Your duties will involve handling tractor-mounted grass and brush mowers, dump trucks, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and front-end loaders with a bucket capacity of less than three cubic yards, along with any necessary attachments. You will conduct safety checks, perform preventative maintenance, and inspect equipment before use, while also keeping detailed records of operations. You will also be responsible for moving equipment to State Parks throughout the Region utilizing a semi-truck and trailer. Additionally, you will engage in a variety of projects such as demolition, construction, water and sewer line repairs, and resource management, as well as performing manual labor when not operating machinery, which includes loading and unloading trucks. Your responsibilities will extend to general maintenance of park facilities, including tasks like building gates and fences, painting, replacing picnic grills and tables, and installing park signs, along with litter collection and restroom cleaning. You will also be tasked with minor repairs and maintenance on equipment, ensuring everything is clean and serviced, and carrying out grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, clearing brush, and snow removal. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and any endorsements required to operate specific equipment, in order to meet operational needs.
