We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Digital Integration Engineer to join the 3D Systems Manufacturing Engineering team in Littleton, Colorado. This role will optimize operational efficiency in our manufacturing processes through establishing machine connectivity and utilization of manufacturing data. The ideal candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple teams to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven solutions to improve business operations. This role has an onsite work schedule requiring the person to be in the onsite location 5 days a week.

What You Will Do

  • ERP System Improvements: Become a technical expert in the structure and use of 3D System's custom ERP system, providing recommendations and support for system improvements.
  • Connect technologies: Improve, extend and couple 3D-printers and manufacturing equipment to the ERP system in close collaboration with R&D, manufacturing and ancillary equipment suppliers in order to improve machine utilization, reliability and output.
  • Data Integration: Merge data from different machines and software tools to identify process issues and enable implementation of continuous improvements.
  • Statistical process control: Support manufacturing engineers with collection and analysis of machine performance data to identify issues early and improve efficiency.
  • Automation: Implement automation projects using software and hardware to improve and automate manufacturing processes.
  • Software Validation: Write and execute software validation test protocols and final reports.
  • Improve business operations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and utilize data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Smartsheets, Excel, SQL) to present insights and drive decision-making.
  • Implement new operational solutions: Prepare visual work instructions, execute Change Orders to update internal procedures and instructions, and lead subsequent training of internal personnel.
  • Applied understanding of applicable quality management requirements and practices; ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards for export controls and handling of government contracts (e.g. ITAR, EAR, etc.).
  • Report progress and status of individual projects on a timely basis, ensuring on time execution within scope and budget.
Qualifications

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electromechanical/Automation Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline required.
  • At least two years of experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, or business process analysis, preferably in the medical, industrial or aerospace industries under FDA/ISO 13485 or AS9100 design controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on manufacturing efficiency.
  • Experience with ERP, MES, and PLM systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, robotics, or (I)IoT solutions.
  • Familiarity with cyber security best practices, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Data Apps a plus (Power Bi, Fabric, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing a plus.
  • Exposure to lean practices such as 8 wastes, Gemba, process mapping, and value stream mapping a plus.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • This position serves the Manufacturing Engineering Group, which includes the need to work on export-controlled products from aerospace and defense customers.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
