Senior Engineering Support Specialist

ACARA Solutions and our client located in Manassas, VA have a contract-to-direct hire position available

Here's what you'd do:

• 4 years of experience in the use of current strategic CAD tools
• 4 years of experience with object-oriented programming, system processes, and scripting languages

• As a CWL Test & Evaluation Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the success of our projects.
• Collaborating with Continuous Wave Laser (CWL) and Multi-Terrain Wheeler Simulator (MTWS) engineers to conduct testing and integration.
• Employing a professional and confident approach when working with various engineering groups within Progeny and external entities to define, document, analyze, conduct, and interpret tests.
• Identifying functional issues and proposing effective resolutions.
• Operating in a fast-paced, integrated product development team comprising professionals from multiple contracting organizations and DoD laboratory entities.
• Developing and analyzing test cases while providing regular progress updates.
• Reporting to a supervisor or manager, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy in your work.
• This role needs intermittent travel, both independently and as part of a team, to support test events in partner and government labs, as well as shipboard installations in domestic and international locations.
• Crafting comprehensive test procedures.
• Proficiently utilizing electrical measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Conducting Verification and Validation for corrective changes.
• Performing installations, rip-outs, testing, and validation of tactical systems.
• Assisting in configuring the lab in accordance with relevant drawings and port maps.
• Supporting informal and formal test events, as well as other customer-driven test activities.
• Identifying, analyzing, and documenting software, firmware, and hardware defects and collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Occasional travel to submarine home ports for Field Services activities.
• Supporting the Logistics team in the development of installation and operation procedures

• Bachelor's Degree in Technology or Engineering with 4 years of experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the use of current strategic CAD tools
• Minimum 4 years of experience with object-oriented programming, system processes, and scripting languages

• Master's Degree with 2 years of experience
• Navy or Submarine experience
• Proficiency in software testing and analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• General knowledge of network configurations, operations, and commands.
• Solid knowledge in the use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
