Position Overview

The Strategic Operations Manager I&D proactively manages and coordinates all aspects of show site production in I&D operations for specific large program accounts, while also scheduling, assigning and training other lead managers to do the same. This individual delivers of the highest level of hassle-free customer service in the most efficient manner possible.

Responsibilities



  • Proactively develop and manage project action plans for specific large corporate accounts.
  • Takes the role of a show site project manager.
  • Ensure project and show margins are met or exceeded.
  • Communicate with local operations teams that handle I&D jobs.
  • Work with Sales and the VP of Install Dismantle in building teams around specific projects and leads.
  • Work with I&D Ops Managers/Supervisors to oversee entire show portfolio, suggest appropriate course of action and address any issues that arise.
  • Review and approve labor calls and staffing plans to ensure alignment with the project action plan, the estimator budget, and service requirements.
  • Where necessary attend the, "I&D Job Launch Meetings" with sales team and/or clients.
  • Oversee all I&D show site operations through consistent contact with the Ops Managers/Supervisors and Leads.
  • Proactively develop and recommend process improvements to the I&D DOO and SOM team.
  • Ensure accurate show site record keeping in order to capture all LOB revenue.
  • Work with the AE's, AM's and Ops Teams to actively manage customer satisfaction.
  • Work with I&D Operations Team to further understand GES shortcomings and look for areas of improvement.
  • Serve as the point person regarding all customer property management procedures.
  • Help attract, train and retain future strategic operations managers by building relationships on the show floor. Introduce and suggest new talent to local managers for use on future shows.
  • Strategic Operations Manager Scheduling, Tracking & Management.
  • Administer performance appraisals in conjunction with the Performance Management Program.
  • Suggest equipment and inventory which can reduce labor expenditures, improve productivity, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with OHSA, DOT and safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP & RDOO I&D Services.


Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent level of industry experience preferred.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years in an Install & Dismantle environment, experience inclusive of management/supervisory functions as well as direct contact with large corporate accounts and relationship building.
  • Prior supervisory/management experience within a unionized environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity with successful experience leading a team.
  • Ability to manage across a region.
  • Successful experience managing in highly complex environments with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated labor relations management experience.
  • Typically requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Requires normal use of computer hardware.
  • Ability to work well in a sometimes loud or otherwise uncomfortable atmosphere due to show floor inconsistencies.
  • Ability to perform physical duties of I&D if the need arises.
  • Move and transport materials.
  • Stand for long periods of time while supervising a E&D/I&D project.

  • Travel required (Approx. 50%).
  • Typically performs work on the tradeshow floor, in noisy and crowded areas.
  • Frequently encounters uncomfortable temperatures, dust and/or other conditions.
