Responsibilities We are currently seeking an experienced first-line risk manager to join our first line of defense Business Risk Office supporting Community Banking, Commercial Banking and Shared Services (CCSS). Reporting into the CCSS Business Risk Director, the ideal candidate for the Business Risk Manager, Sr role will have significant experience in Treasury Management, Payments, Commercial or Consumer Lending, Fulfillment, Operations and/or Servicing, as well as first, second or third line of defense risk management, and process and control evaluation, design, and implementation experience at large financial institutions. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to build risk and control activities in the first line of defense and will lead a team of Business Risk Officers. This newly created role will be pivotal in implementing risk frameworks, will serve as the first line of defense governance and control partner to executive leadership, and requires strong collaboration and influencing skills. As a player/coach, the Business Risk Manager will directly support a designated business segment while simultaneously guiding and developing a team. The role involves hands-on contribution to the design and implementation of action plans, control enhancements, and process design, coupled with leadership responsibilities that build capability across the team. This is a managerial role with a current team of four individuals. Managerial Responsibilities will include: o Lead regulatory and compliance examinations and internal audits, including coordination of tasks and deliverables amongst risk and business line team members. Facilitate other internal reviews, including SOX certification. o Work closely with other departments (such as Risk, IT, Sales, and Customer Service) to align risk management strategies with effective delivery models. Resolve conflicts quickly through proactive communication and influential leadership. Qualifications and Education Requirements This position may be filled at a different level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience. Factors may include but are not limited to: previous experience, depth and breath of previous or current institution size- the same role for many years or a variety of roles in the same space over a number of years, skills, knowledge, previous performance and success factors, education/certification.
