Description

Markon's partner company is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to support a software development team by driving requirements, technical planning, and customer collaboration throughout the development lifecycle for an IC Customer. This role allows up to 2 days of telework flexibility



Responsibilities

    Serve as the Lead Systems Engineer supporting a software development team, providing technical oversight and ensuring system requirements align with delivery goals.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements through collaborative sessions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and the development team, managing customer expectations, clarifying priorities, and communicating progress and impacts.
  • Translate complex system concepts into clear documentation and briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support development and integration efforts involving cloud-based architectures and modern service patterns.
  • Contribute to Agile planning and delivery activities (e.g., backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews), ensuring requirements are actionable and traceable.
  • Use and maintain project documentation and collaboration artifacts in tools such as Jira and Confluence.


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
  • 5+ years of experience performing in a Lead Systems Engineer role for a software development team.
  • Familiarity with software development using:
    • Unix/Linux environments
    • Java and/or Java Spring frameworks
    • RESTful microservices (e.g., Spring Boot)
    • Cloud-based architecture and deployment, including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to elicit and document functional and technical requirements.
  • Proven ability to communicate intricate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and audiences.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.


Salary Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
