Private Banker

The Private Banker will be responsible for establishing relationships for the purposes of making commercial and consumer loans, extending credit within established lending limits, and making recommendations and presentations on loans above that limit. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a loan portfolio, which will provide maximum profitability to the bank with minimum risk. Also, this position will solicit and maintain a deposit portfolio which will provide the bank with adequate funding sources.

Conduct loan interviews to gain insight into the customer's business operation and gather information to facilitate analysis
• Perform financial and business analysis to determine the customer's credit worthiness, evaluate management, identify trends in the business cycle, and identify strengths and weaknesses in the business
• Establish and negotiate, where necessary, the terms under which credit will be extended, including fee, repayment method, and collateral requirements
• Structure loans to establish terms and rate proportionate with risk involved and match collateral life and business cycle to repayment schedule without constricting working capital or cash flow
• Manage portfolio yields and maintain documentation that complies with government regulations and bank policy
• Maintain current insurance, security documents, and financial data on loan portfolio
• Monitor customer compliance with loan agreement
• Monitor loan repayment activities and take action to collect past due accounts
• Advise customers where possible on business and financial matters
• Appraise and evaluate collateral conditions to establish a value using established guidelines
• Cultivate present customer relationships and prospect for new business through customer calls, also cross-selling bank services when possible
• Serve as a contact for depository accounts and monitor account status and approve overdrafts, also help customers when problems arise
• Consult and counsel peer group officers to aid in credit decisions collateral valuations and overall learning experience for all involved
• Develop materials and methods to enhance the officers' efforts in business development, financial analysis, and overall performance of their duties
• Participate in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities
• Undertake special projects related to departmental services as assigned by the senior loan officers
• Keep abreast of trends and conditions within the economy and the banking arena
• Conduct financial assessments to gain insight into the customer's financial needs
• Solicit and maintain a deposit portfolio
• Solicit Trust and investment business
• Cross-sell all services of the bank
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years job related experience
• Good communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of bank policies and procedures
• Thorough and complete knowledge of all bank services
• Well developed understanding of business structure, the role of company's management, along with the ability to analyze and evaluate that management
• Well developed understanding of basic and advanced analytical techniques and the ability to apply these analytical techniques in a lending situation, as well as carry these skills forward in the evaluation and pricing structuring of a loan
• Thorough understanding of how problem loans develop and the appropriate techniques used to manage them
• Thorough understanding of relationship banking
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous complex and detailed loan cases
