Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is currently recruiting for a Project Manager within our Device Development Department along with the potential to foster project leadership across the greater Georgia Pacific R&D organization. The Project Manager, Device R & D will lead development teams for mechanical and electro-mechanical dispensers of paper, skin care, and cutlery from concept through commercialization. They may lead projects that focus on up-front innovation phases, or they may lead projects approved for commercialization. They will collaborate with business category managers to define the project scope, including requirements for safety, quality, performance, and cost. In this role you will have direct influence shaping the evolution of the products of our business-to-business brands, Dixie, enMotion, Brawny, Compact and Pacific Blue Ultra. They will be part of team that is supportive throughout the organization.

At Georgia-Pacific's Neenah Technical Center (NTC) in Neenah WI, we are committed to meeting our customers' needs with solutions that involve great design, consistent quality, and demonstrated customer value. NTC is our central site for research, development, and lab services for Georgia-Pacific's North American Consumer Products.

What You Will Do

  • Create an effective team environment and lead cross-functional teams with some members in different locations.
  • Build relationships with business and functional group managers at all levels.
  • Innovate to take entrepreneurial action, adding value individually and with others.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to facilitate effective decisions.
  • Define a complex project timeline and lead a cross-functional team to meet the timeline.
  • Define and manage a budget for engineering resources, product cost and capital expense.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal presentation and written communication skills from task assignments to executive reporting.
  • Understand and lead the Product Development process from concepting to market launch.
  • Take ownership of development tasks and drive them to completion in a timely manner.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3 or more years' R&D experience developing mechanical or electro-mechanical products from concept to commercialization.
  • 2 years of demonstrated success working as a project manager, project engineer or team leader.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering, technical, or business field.
  • Direct PM experience of volume-produced, electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience with innovation of new products including customer research and conceptualization.
  • In-depth understanding of project management and team leadership principles. PMBOK knowledge and/or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Workfront, Smartsheet, or similar.
