Performs daily activities of quality inspection of incoming materials, SPC reporting and the special-order process.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Receiving Clerk to ensure all parts requiring inspection are properly staged, inspected, and released for production in a timely manner.
  • Assists the QC Inspection Coordinator as needed.
  • Maintains Calibration Program.
  • Be proficient in the use of micrometers, height stands, surface analyzers, calipers, templates, dial indicators, hardness tests, optical comparators, and other precision equipment as needed.
  • Document and report deficiencies to the Manufacturing Engineer as they arise.
  • Work with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing to assure issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Assist QC Inspection Coordinator in analyzing production issues as needed, along with adhering to the site's Gauge Calibration Program.
  • Move tote boxes, trays, bins and other types of containers as required.
  • Adhere to plant Safety Program and policies.
  • Perform counts as required.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

  • Previous Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must possess excellent math skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must possess excellent math skills and have highly accurate record keeping skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a rational decision-making ability and basic computer skills.

  • Must be able to work the required shift hours and any overtime as required.

  • Must be able to stand, walk or sit for the period of a regularly scheduled workday.

  • Must be able to use pneumatic tools, hand tools and various other machines such as electronic tests, manual testers, vices, presses, etc. as required.
