Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed School Patrol in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with staff, students, and visitors, providing excellent customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of activity on the premises.
  • Communicate and coordinate with school personnel and local authorities as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Document and report any unusual observations, incidents, or security-related issues encountered during patrols or while on post.
  • Maintain a professional presence and interact respectfully with all individuals within the location to promote a welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Have a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Have supervisory experience.
  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or at least 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Have a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.
  • Have a valid corrections officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
