As a Security Officer - Academic Patrol Unarmed in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for students, faculty, and visitors. By conducting routine patrols and remaining visible, you will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, students, faculty, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment within the education location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe and report any unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and support the security-related needs of the location.
• Document and communicate observations, incidents, and activities to Allied Universal management and/or local authorities as required.
• Assist with access control, visitor management, and enforcement of site-specific policies in an educational setting.
• Provide information and assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed, maintaining a professional and approachable presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
