Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Government Site Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols at a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This driving and armed position allows you to interact with the public, respond to incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor the premises for unusual behavior and/or suspicious activity, and report findings according to established procedures.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and/or contractors in a professional manner while enforcing access control policies.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations, incidents, and/or activities during each shift.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency responders when required by the situation.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to security-related incidents as they arise.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
