Job Description




As a Security Officer - Chemical Patrol Specialist in La Porte, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a chemical or petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for chemical and petrochemical environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including business areas and the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.
  • Observe and report any irregularities such as equipment or property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences within the facility.
  • Document all activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and emergency responders as needed to address incidents involving hazardous materials or other critical situations.
  • Remain alert and attentive to the unique challenges present within a chemical and petrochemical setting, adapting to changing site conditions as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA is required.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
