The Role
This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the Outdoor Grow. The Outdoor Maintenance Technician assists the Maintenance team in routine and preventative maintenance of all equipment within the outdoor grow, as well as general cleaning and upkeep of the outdoor grow itself to ensure reliability of the equipment. The ideal candidate is well-rounded, with a strong understanding of electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, and HVAC as well as general facility maintenance and strong customer service skills. In the event of no maintenance work outdoors, this person will be assisting in outdoor cultivation duties and responsibilities. You are also a team player - driven by pride in your work and smiles on your coworker's faces. Cannabis is a heavily regulated industry, therefore requires all employees to follow safety and compliance regulations.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Perform minor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and repairs, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, as necessary.
- Assist in construction, preventative, routine, and breakdown maintenance and repairs on all equipment in the outdoor grow.
- Perform routine filter cleaning and replacement activities on HVAC units and other equipment throughout the outdoor grow.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Manager and Ops Manager to maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies outdoors.
- Complete work orders as assignedand collaborates with work order requestors to ensure satisfactory completion of their requests.
- Perform minor repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on processing equipment in the outdoor grow.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, and required training (Safety, Quality, Regulations, etc.).
- Responsible for unloading freight deliveries when needed.
- Responsible for escorting visitors or vendors outdoors as needed.
- Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
- Help create a positive environment by having a positive attitude and by being self-motivated.
- Research, evaluate, and adapt to new methods to meet or exceed goals, or modify their technique/procedures based on all applicable laws.

Safety & Compliance:
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the role with extreme care and caution.

- Perform record keeping accurately and completely as directed by a lead or supervisor.
- Maintain and calibrate tools, equipment, and machinery as directed by a lead or supervisor.
- Report and escalate safety and quality concerns.
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, climbing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, seeing, and performing repetitive motions.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds (and up to 100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with product.
- Must be able to work in an environment with extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).
Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred; Associate's degree or journeyman certification preferred.
- Forklift and Skid Steer certification
- 5+ years' experience in maintenance or similar position preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and general construction/carpentry.
- Highly knowledgeable with hand and power tools
- Prior cannabis experience is not required
- Experience with TPM and Lean Manufacturing preferred.

- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
