PRIMARY PURPOSE



CNA is hiring for a Security Guard Lead. The Security Guard Lead is a full-time salaried position and is part of the Chief Security Office (CSO). This position will lead a team of security guards and responsible for physical and data security at CNA headquarters with 24/7 security presence, to include front desk staffing, roving patrols and escorting. They will ensure the highest quality security services and preserve order in the protection of personnel, property, and sensitive information by enforcing security regulations, responding to alarms, and conducting security patrols and inspections. This role is responsible for access control, visitor management, and reporting security breaches, and may handle and lead emergency situations, maintain logs, and prepare reports.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND / OR DUTIES




  1. Ensure compliance with established security policies, site-specific performance and procedures, and adhere to post orders.
  2. Lead a team of security guards: Conduct regular briefings and training sessions to ensure all team members are updated on security protocols. Provide guidance and support to security personnel, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  3. Maintain Security Operations: Ensure all security equipment and systems are functioning correctly. Conduct regular patrols and inspections to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  4. Incident Management: Respond to and manage security incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting. Coordinate with FSO, law enforcement and emergency services as directed. Investigate security breaches and implement corrective actions.
  5. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of security activities, incidents, and personnel performance. Prepare and submit regular reports to CSO management. Assist in the development and implementation of security training, policies and procedures.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS




  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant experience with high-level security experience on DOD or military site preferred. Experience leading or mentoring a team.
  3. Skills: Familiarity with security protocols, emergency procedures, and relevant regulations. Familiarity / knowledge of DISS (Defense Information System for Security). Meticulous attention to detail. Basic computer skills to operate security systems and prepare reports. Possess a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate and explain dynamic situations coherently. Understand accountability and lead by example.
  4. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required, preference to applicants who currently have an active secret clearance; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance preferred.
  5. Other: Ability to lift up to 35Ibs and move office equipment. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Ability to work a flexible schedule. This position is not eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements.
