Job Description




As a Security Guard - Unarmed Apartment Patrol in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and resident and/or visitor interactions with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout residential buildings, common areas, entry points, and surrounding grounds to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor traffic; assist with resident and guest directions and/or requests while maintaining post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disturbances, medical calls, and/or fire or water alarms as directed by site procedures.
  • Complete timely documentation such as daily activity reports and incident reports, noting observations, actions taken, and/or notifications made.
  • Observe and report property hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious conditions to site management and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Communicate via radio, phone, and/or dispatch systems to coordinate response with property staff and local emergency services when appropriate.
  • Support move-ins, deliveries, and other residential activities by monitoring designated areas and reporting concerns consistent with site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Guard Card or security license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
