As an Armed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and resident requests with strong communication and customer service. This is an armed and driving post requiring a valid driver's license and an armed guard card or license. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a residential community environment.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disturbances, and medical events, and notify site leadership and/or public emergency services as required.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of community roads, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or suspicious conditions.
- Control access at community entry points as assigned, including verifying authorization for residents, visitors, contractors, and deliveries, and directing traffic flow when needed.
- Perform security-related screening of vehicles and/or persons as permitted by post orders and applicable laws, and follow escalation procedures for denied access.
- Carry and maintain issued equipment in accordance with post orders and applicable laws, including adherence to use of force guidelines and proper retention and storage requirements.
- Observe and report unusual activity, property damage, and rule violations, and complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Interact professionally with residents and visitors to de-escalate conflicts, provide directions, and assist with non-emergency requests while maintaining a customer service focus.
- Conduct checks of doors, gates, lighting, and key community assets during patrol, and report maintenance concerns to the appropriate contact.
- Support emergency response activities such as assisting with evacuations, securing incident scenes, and coordinating with responding personnel until relieved.
- Monitor alarms and/or surveillance systems when assigned, and initiate appropriate response actions based on established procedures.
- Follow all site-specific policies, Allied Universal guidelines, and applicable regulations while maintaining a consistent, professional presence throughout the location.
Minimum Requirements: - A minimum of 2+ years of security experience is required.
- An armed guard card and/or license is required.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
