Security Officer - Mall Access Control

As a Security Officer - Mall Access Control in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy retail location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents. You will greet shoppers and staff, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with your team while documenting observations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, guests, and/or team members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor areas, entrances and exits, stockroom corridors, and the surrounding perimeter as assigned.
• Monitor customer and employee activity for suspicious behavior and/or policy violations, and help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or disorderly conduct through presence and professional interaction.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, fire alarms, and/or other urgent situations.
• Control access as assigned by checking doors, gates, and restricted areas, and assist with crowd flow and queue management during busy store periods.
• Operate and observe security-related systems when available, including video monitoring, alarm panels, and two-way radios, and report any malfunctions.
• Document routine activity and incident details in written reports, including accurate times, locations, actions taken, and notifications made.
• Communicate with on-site management, Allied Universal leadership, and/or responding public services as needed, following site instructions and escalation procedures.
• Support opening and closing procedures as assigned, including walking the building, checking exterior conditions, and verifying key areas are secured per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience - preferred.
• Guard Card/License - preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience - preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
