As a Security Officer - Fulfillment Gatehouse PT in New Hill, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and document incidents while providing strong customer service and communication. You will remain visible and conduct routine patrols to help reduce security-related issues. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing drivers, employees, and visitors to the proper locations.
  • Screen and/or log inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, including checking delivery documentation and coordinating dock and yard access with site personnel.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, reporting unusual activity and escalating concerns per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, shipping and receiving areas, trailer yards, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Perform entrance and perimeter checks to help identify unsecured doors, damaged fencing, and other conditions that could impact site operations, then report findings through the appropriate channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and disputes, following site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, including visitor and vendor records, incident reports, and shift activity documentation.
  • Coordinate with site leadership and local emergency services when needed, maintaining clear radio and/or phone communications.
  • Provide guidance to employees and visitors on site rules such as prohibited items, restricted areas, and traffic patterns, supporting a professional location experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
