DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Roadway Programs Coordinator, you will be responsible for monitoring the annual work plan (AWP) throughout the fiscal year by utilizing plant maintenance and business warehouse reports to ensure plan conformance, reports on status, and make recommendations for adjustments as needed for changing priorities, conditions, and funding. You will review work units completed, man hours spent, equipment utilization, and materials usage, as well as review output data to identify potential reasons for work program problems.


Primary fiscal functions will entail preparing
county budget reviews to inform management of budget status; advising the County Manager on budget issues and make recommendations regarding shifting monies between programs as needed; and continually monitoring funds to ensure adequate funds are available for all purchases for county operations and encumbered funds to ensure no funds are lost at fiscal year-end. In addition, you will assist the County Maintenance Manager with disseminating and incorporating new or revised Strategic Environmental Management Program (SEMP) procedures, processes, and tools into the county.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
  • Overtime and shift work required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Specialist or Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and an associate's degree in a field of business administration, computer science, highway engineering technology or closely related program; or
  • One year of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of methods and techniques used in a roadway maintenance management system; and a bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or civil engineering related discipline; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
