Job Description




As a Security Officer - Corporate Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors, respond to concerns, and document activity with clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control processes, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, medical events, and facility disruptions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and building perimeters to help to deter unwanted activity and identify irregular conditions.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, and access control panels, and report concerns per post orders.
  • Control entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor and vendor logs in accordance with site policies.
  • Assist with security-related screening of deliveries and service providers, directing them to approved areas and notifying internal points of contact as required.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift activity logs, and other documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Communicate clearly with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and responding public services as needed, providing updates and requesting assistance when appropriate.
  • Support security-related response to building issues such as unsecured doors, lighting outages, and suspicious packages by escalating through the established chain of communication.
  • Maintain a professional presence and follow uniform standards, customer service expectations, and confidentiality requirements while on post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
