Job Description




As a Security Officer - Telecom Perimeter Patrol in Newark, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet team members and visitors, respond to questions and concerns, and communicate clearly while documenting observations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points where permitted.
  • Monitor access points and help manage entry and exit by confirming authorization, supporting badging processes, and directing visitors and vendors to the correct check-in procedures.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance or operational concerns that could impact people, property, and/or operations at a tech-focused location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, medical calls for service, disturbances, and unauthorized persons, and request additional assistance when needed.
  • Use security-related technology such as CCTV, radios, and access control systems to help identify issues and support timely response.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, including accurate descriptions of persons, actions taken, and follow-up notifications.
  • Support loading dock and/or delivery activity as assigned by verifying delivery appointments, directing drivers to designated areas, and reporting irregularities through established channels.
  • Communicate clearly with site leadership and Allied Universal management regarding recurring issues, post orders, and changes to site conditions during the shift.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
