What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate the access control post by greeting and screening visitors, confirming appointments, and directing authorized personnel to the appropriate check-in areas.
  • Verify identity and authorization using approved credentials, visitor management systems, and access lists; issue visitor badges and collect badges upon departure per site procedures.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or tailgating; address access issues in a calm, problem-solving manner and escalate concerns per site protocol.
  • Coordinate with on-site staff regarding deliveries, service providers, and scheduled work, including verifying work orders and confirming access permissions.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control panels as assigned, and respond to alerts by following post orders and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and/or suspicious activity, and complete notifications per procedure.
  • Complete required logs and reports such as shift activity logs, visitor logs, incident reports, and access control documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate clearly via phone, radio, and/or email with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding ongoing issues, policy questions, and operational needs.
  • Support a professional workplace environment by enforcing site rules related to entry requirements, prohibited items, and restricted areas, while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
