As a Security Guard - Day Shift Patrol Driver FT in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech location as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will patrol buildings and grounds, complete vehicle and foot rounds, monitor access points, document security-related activity, and assist employees and visitors with clear communication and service. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, labs, data center corridors, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Control access at assigned entry points by verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in, issuing temporary badges when authorized, and directing guests to the appropriate locations.
- Monitor alarms, access control activity, cameras, and/or building management notifications, and communicate concerns to site contacts according to post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, suspicious activity, and/or disruptive behavior.
- Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and escalate issues through the appropriate chain of command.
- Support a professional workplace environment by providing directions, assisting with lost and found, and addressing general questions while maintaining a courteous presence.
- Coordinate with onsite teams regarding deliveries, service providers, and scheduled maintenance activity, and report security-related concerns such as unsecured doors, broken gates, or lighting outages.
- Perform foot and/or vehicle patrols as assigned, including checks of stairwells, common areas, and restricted zones, and report irregular conditions to supervision.
- Follow Allied Universal and site policies regarding confidentiality and information handling while working in a technology-focused location.
Minimum Requirements: - A minimum of 1 year of security experience is required.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
