Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol

As a Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol in Valencia, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to guest and tenant concerns with clear communication and customer service. You will complete routine patrols, document observations, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, guests, and retail staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout interior common areas, exterior walkways, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or hazard concerns for reporting.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and key access points, observing for unusual activity and assisting with access control and crowd flow as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disturbances, medical calls, and other service requests.
• Write clear, detailed incident reports and shift activity logs, documenting observations, actions taken, and follow-up needs.
• Provide assistance with lost and found inquiries and guest directions, and coordinate with property management and/or law enforcement when situations require escalation.
• Observe for retail-related concerns such as loitering, disorderly conduct, and potential theft indicators, and promptly notify appropriate parties per site procedures.
• Support opening and closing routines as assigned, including perimeter checks, door checks, and lighting observations, reporting irregularities to supervision.
• Operate communications equipment and/or monitoring systems as assigned, maintaining professional radio and phone etiquette while coordinating responses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Allied Universal management in accordance with post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
