Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Entry Control in Saint Louis, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Armed Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a food and beverage location, you will help manage entry and exit points, greet team members and visitors, verify credentials, and monitor activity through patrols and observation. You will document incidents, communicate clearly with on-site leadership, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the location by monitoring entry and exit points, checking identification, and verifying authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
  • Register and direct visitors and contractors using approved sign-in and badge processes, maintaining accurate logs and documentation.
  • Coordinate with receiving and shipping teams to manage access for deliveries and pickups, including directing trucks to designated areas and confirming scheduled appointments.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems to identify irregular activity and report concerns to site management and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including entrances, loading docks, and parking areas. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and maintenance issues in written and/or electronic reports, including tracking keys, badges, and other access-related items.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations through visible presence, consistent access control practices, and prompt reporting.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations and reunification points as directed by site policies and Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
