As a Security Officer - Warehouse Gate in Thomson, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will support access control by greeting visitors, verifying identification, issuing and managing badges, and monitoring entries and exits. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document activity using site systems. Bring strong customer service and communication while working with a team that values integrity, agility, reliability, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by verifying identification, checking credentials and/or access authorization, and directing visitors, drivers and contractors to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Operate and monitor gatehouse and dock access processes, including inbound and outbound traffic flow, trailer and container entry, and visitor management protocols.
  • Perform package, bag and/or vehicle checks as permitted by site policy, documenting findings and escalating concerns according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, unauthorized access attempts, disputes at the gate, and medical emergencies.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas including yards, parking areas, perimeter lines, loading docks and common areas. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor and document activity using access control systems and video surveillance equipment, reporting irregular conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain logs and reports such as visitor records, incident reports, patrol activity, key control records and chain of custody documentation as required by site policy.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal leadership, client representatives and/or local responders when conditions require escalation, coordination or additional resources.
  • Assist with enforcement of site rules such as parking, smoking areas, restricted zones and PPE requirements where applicable, providing directions and de-escalation support when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Have customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
