As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control needs. You will deliver customer-focused assistance and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors while documenting activity and escalating concerns as needed. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disturbances, suspicious activity, and medical situations, and notify appropriate parties as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
- Control access to assigned locations by monitoring entrances, checking credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate destinations in accordance with site procedures.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or other security-related systems when assigned, and report irregular conditions following post orders.
- Write clear, timely reports of daily activity, incidents, and observations, including witness information and actions taken.
- Assist with campus events and special assignments by providing presence, crowd direction, and queue management, and coordinating with site staff and/or local responders when needed.
- Provide escorts and assistance for students, staff, and visitors when requested and permitted by site policy.
- Enforce site rules and policies in a professional manner, using de-escalation techniques and contacting supervision and/or law enforcement when appropriate.
- Conduct perimeter checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas, and document and report unsecured areas, damaged property, or maintenance concerns.
Minimum Requirements: - - Be at least 21 years of age.
- - Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
- - Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- - Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
