Job Description




As a Security Officer Flex Gate Driver in Point Comfort, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will welcome employees and visitors, verify credentials and TWIC access, issue badges, and manage entry and exit points. You will maintain detailed logs, communicate clearly with site teams, and remain a visible, customer-focused presence that helps support security-related operations. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, where agility, teamwork, and integrity matter every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, credentials, and authorization to enter restricted areas.
  • Register visitors and contractors, issue temporary credentials when authorized, and maintain visitor logs and related documentation per site procedures.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates, verify shipping and/or delivery documentation when required, and direct drivers to approved routes and staging areas.
  • Operate and monitor access control systems, alarms, radios, and closed-circuit television equipment, and report irregular activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and Allied Universal supervision as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, and perimeter zones as assigned, observing for conditions that may require follow-up and/or reporting.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and shift turnover notes, including documentation of access denials and unusual occurrences.
  • Support site emergency procedures by assisting with access point control during evacuations, muster events, and/or incident response operations as directed.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel, contractors, and emergency responders, providing clear directions and timely status updates during routine operations and unusual events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • - A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • - A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • - Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
