Job Description




As a Security Officer - Federal Facility Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an unarmed Patrol Officer, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas while staying highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will complete routine patrols, support entry screening as needed, and deliver clear, professional customer service while using basic technology for reporting. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity, including checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas.
  • Monitor and document access to government facilities by observing pedestrian and vehicle traffic patterns and reporting irregular activity.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, including daily activity logs and observations, in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Assist with public-facing interactions such as providing directions, answering questions, and supporting orderly movement of staff and visitors while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support site procedures during emergencies such as medical situations, fire alarms, severe weather, and evacuations, including contacting emergency services and/or designated personnel as directed.
  • Use radios, phones, and other communications tools to relay timely updates and coordinate responses with site representatives and/or local authorities when needed.
  • Perform additional security-related duties as assigned, based on site-specific policies and operational needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
