Job Description




As a Security Officer - Residential Site - Front Desk in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a residential community, you will be the welcoming first point of contact while supporting security-related operations. You will help manage access control, monitor activity, respond to alarms and/or resident concerns, and communicate clearly with property staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential front desk location.
  • Staff the front desk post, maintain a professional presence, and assist with access control by verifying identification, issuing visitor access credentials, and/or coordinating resident and guest entry per site policies.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, intercoms, and/or other front desk systems as assigned, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Answer phones, greet and direct visitors, and communicate with property management regarding routine requests and security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site staff and/or emergency services when required.
  • Document incidents, observations, visitor activity, and/or policy exceptions in daily activity reports and incident reports with clear, timely, and accurate details.
  • Support package and key control procedures as assigned, including logging deliveries, holding items per policy, and coordinating pickup with authorized parties.
  • Conduct initial assessment of maintenance, lighting, and/or access issues observed near the front desk area and report concerns through established notification channels.
  • Assist with move-in and move-out activity by following site procedures for access, visitor management, and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with Allied Universal training requirements, client guidelines, and post orders while performing assigned front desk duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
