Job Description




As a Security Officer - Chemical Site - Access Control in Point Comfort, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy chemical and petrochemical location, you will welcome employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and monitor activity to help support site rules and security-related protocols. You will stay visible, communicate clearly over radio and in person, and document events with attention to detail. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, checking authorization to enter restricted areas, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
  • Screen employees, contractors, and deliveries according to post orders, including inspecting credentials, verifying appointments, and directing traffic flow to designated areas.
  • Issue and collect visitor credentials as required, communicate site rules, and coordinate with site contacts for approvals and/or escorts.
  • Operate access control systems such as badge readers, gate controls, and visitor management logs, and report irregularities per site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and communication channels associated with gates and access points, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, fires, chemical releases, severe weather, and other site emergencies as directed by post orders.
  • Complete reports and documentation such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and access control records with clear, timely, and factual information.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to visitors and contractors while maintaining professional boundaries and following site confidentiality expectations.
  • Coordinate with onsite personnel and emergency responders as requested, including relaying information, controlling access routes, and supporting accountability processes.
  • Support compliance with facility rules by observing for unauthorized entry attempts and policy violations, and taking appropriate action to help to deter prohibited activity.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, support a customer-focused environment, and follow Allied Universal and client policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
