Job Description




As a Security Guard - Public Sector Foot Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, unauthorized access concerns, and medical facility protocol issues, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, waiting rooms, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying authorization when required, and assisting with visitor directions and wayfinding while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other site systems when assigned, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public emergency services as required.
  • Complete reports and logs for incidents, patrol activity, and unusual conditions, and preserve information for follow-up by management and/or law enforcement.
  • Support facility operations by enforcing site rules related to prohibited items, restricted areas, and visitor conduct, using de-escalation and respectful communication.
  • Participate in drills, briefings, and required training, and follow post orders, chain of command, and documentation requirements established for the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
