Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail store and parking area setting.
- Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements, and site instructions, including maintaining control of issued equipment and following use-of-force guidance.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances and exits, receiving areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
- Monitor customer and employee activity for unusual behavior, respond to potential issues, and use verbal de-escalation techniques to help resolve conflicts and/or disturbances.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site management and contacting local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
- Observe and report suspected shoplifting, fraud, and policy violations; support loss prevention efforts by maintaining presence, communicating observations, and preserving scene conditions for follow-up.
- Control access to restricted areas such as back-of-house spaces and receiving docks by checking credentials, verifying authorization, and directing deliveries and visitors per site procedures.
- Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation in a timely manner, including descriptions of actions taken and individuals involved.
- Provide assistance to customers and associates with directions, escort requests, and general questions while maintaining a professional presence.
- Monitor security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and radios when assigned, and communicate observations promptly to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
- Participate in emergency response activities such as medical calls, fire alarms, and severe weather events by following site protocols, assisting with orderly movement, and supporting first responders.
- Follow all site-specific policies related to prohibited items, trespass notices, and removal of disruptive individuals, using the minimum necessary intervention and requesting additional support when needed.
Minimum Requirements: - Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
- Possess a Handcuffing Certification preferred.
- Possess a Baton Certification preferred.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
